Welcome to the Wicked West Ghost Town |
2011 Conclusion | The Wicked West Ghost Town was up and running on Oct. 2nd with its Wicked light show and rocked it all month. We opened the Wicked Maze on Oct. 13th for Kids Night then on Oct. 15th for 17 nights that equaled a total of 44 hours. (11 nights of 2 hours per night and 7 nights of 3 hours per night, Halloween night went over 1 hour)
We had a total of 5347 people enter the haunt. This number does not include the people that stepped out of line and the masses that did not enter and only came to watch the lights and or the people. Our estimate is around 8500 visitors for the entire month of October 2011. And that my friends is how The Wicked West Ghost Town Of Jose Ramon Ave. Rocks the party.
---------
What is The Wicked West Ghost Town Of Jose Ramon Ave. you ask? To sum it up, it’s a life sized reenactment of the Rosa Witch legend, it’s a light show, it’s an interactive haunted house and a safe place to go trick or treating on Halloween night. The Halloween industry calls this an Extreme Yard Haunt, and yes we have taken it to the EXTREAM!
The Wicked West Ghost Town Facade The Ghost Town facade was designed to look like some of the old buildings from the early days of Sonoma County. We built the entire display out of one hundred year old redwood that was given to us by a family in Sonoma. The only real way you will get a good understanding of the facade is by seeing it in person or taking a look at some of our photos and videos. After building the facade we decided that adding store bought props just wasn’t going to work, so as you will notice that we have made around 95% of our props. We have two extreme props that where designed by a local metal fab shop (fabworxinc.com). They are the insane Shaking Marshal and our new 2011 Scarecrow. Some other props include authentic old west saddles, tack, tools and lots of wooden tombstones, etc.
The Wicked Light Show The light show is a computerized setup that uses an 80 channel Light-O-Rama system to sequence the lights to the music. On any given night at the haunt people can stop by and watch the lights dance with twenty or so different Halloween related songs from the past to the present. The lights are set in and around the ghost town facade, this makes the haunt come alive at night.
2011 The Wicked Light show will run every night starting Oct. 2nd from around 6:00pm (Dusk) to 10:00pm on the weekends and till around 9:00, 9:30pm on week nights. (Our music list can be found on www.srlights.com)
The Wicked Haunted House Maze (New for 2011) The maze section of that haunt has been made possible by a long time local Santa Rosa lumber company, Mead Clark. Mead Clark donated all the wood this year so that we could add this new maze that sits behind our newest façade section, the Lumber Co. You enter the Lumber Co. then wind your way around the maze doing everything in your power to find the way out. Inside the maze you will be surrounded by 8 foot tall walls and things that will make you afraid of hallways for the rest of your life. Some of the features in the maze include live monsters, environmental changes, and visual exploits. This new addition will hopefully take The Wicked West Ghost Town from our 2010 listing of 4th in the Nation to one of the top 3 home haunts in that nation. The Wicked Maze will be open starting October 15th to the 31st. see the schedule for times.
Special Effect Disclaimer for the Wicked Maze The towns people and monsters of The Wicked West Ghost Town have requested that you be preemptively notified that the following special effects are used throughout the towns maze. Should you be subject to epileptic seizures, are pregnant, or have an existing heart condition or other medical problems, do not enter! Among the terrifying effects we use are: • Strobe lighting and other disorienting lighting. • Fog effects. • Extreme darkness. • Intense sounds. • Extreme visual effects, graphic imagery, blood, gore and children. • Hardcore in your face Freestyle Haunting. • Uneven flooring. • Performer and mechanical driven scares. • Claustrophobic spaces. • Witch Craft and Paranormal Rituals.
Trick Or Treat Extravaganza On Halloween night the ghost town is opened for trick or treating and lots of bone chilling fun.
This is our 4th annual extreme haunt and we are expecting allot of people this year. Last year we estimated we had around 8000 people show up throughout the month, around 2500 of them come on Halloween night alone. It’s free, fun and the neighborhood does everything in it's power to make it a safe environment for everyone, so come on down to Jose Ramon Ave. this year for some good old fashion Halloween fun.
